Dr Kristina Bogatic

Associate Vet
I graduated in 2021 from Adelaide Uni and was very eager to start my career right away - I had been waiting my whole life to be a Vet so I absolutely could not wait to begin! I had recently been to Mount Barker Vet Clinic as a student and fell in love with the smiling supportive faces, beautiful animals and incredible facilities. I applied for a job there and was lucky enough to start at the clinic straight out of uni.

I feel so grateful to get to form a connection with so many wonderful people from so many different walks of life on a daily basis, while we work together to help their animals. There is something so inexplicably special about being able help guide someone through the excitement of a new puppy, the stress of a bout of cat flu, or the peaceful last goodbye of a euthanasia.

Coming out of University up to date with all the latest research fresh in my mind, I did not expect for medicine and science to be updating so quickly! We are so lucky to have frequently released research papers and trials, guiding newer and better diagnostics and treatments. So much so that even three years out of university there are treatments for things like itchy skin and arthritic pain that did not exist when I was studying! Isn’t that amazing!

Outside of work, I love being in the outdoors, and at any one moment you’ll probably be able to find me in the garden (begging my plants to grow!), on a hike with my partner and very cheeky pup, or heading somewhere remote to camp! I am also so fortunate to volunteer my time with a wonderful charity called Paws & Pals, hosting pop-up Vet clinics for those experiencing homelessness (check them out - they do some really amazing work!).
